Sportech's Americas COO steps down
David Schreff leaves role after just eight months
Sportech’s Americas COO David Schreff has left the company after just eight months in the role.
Schreff was appointed in December and handed responsibility for overseeing the London-listed operator’s activities in the US and Latin American markets.
Schreff has left Sportech to run his own Connecticut-based consultancy Bedare Sports & Entertainment.
He has worked in the sports, entertainment and media sector for more than 30 years, having held a number of board director, executive and senior management roles in leading organizations including the National Basketball Association, Walt Disney, Marvel Entertainment and Viacom.
Sportech has ramped up US activities in the past 18 months and now employs over 700 staff in the country in its offices and operation centres in Connecticut, Atlanta, New Jersey and California, and Schreff’s appointment was heralded by Sportech CEO Ian Penrose as adding “further weight” to the company’s senior management team.
No replacement has been announced and a spokesperson for Sportech was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.
