Smarkets launches new sports and politics content site
London-headquartered exchange to use betting habits and expert insight to inform users around major events
Smarkets has unveiled a news site called Smarkets News in a bid to ramp up the exchange’s content output.
The site brings together writers from the world of sport and politics to provide insight, betting tips, previews and trends, while highlighting the latest prices on the exchange.
The first tranche of articles will be provided by goal.com journalist Robin Barnier, golf writer Brian Keogh, multi-sports journalist Liz Byrnes and US specialist Mark Woods.
Joining the team will be ex-Racing Post tipster Tom Collins and Smarkets’ very own head of political markets, Matthew Shaddick.
Adam Baylis, head of customer marketing at Smarkets, said: “We are very excited to be bringing together so many great writers for a new betting content site that aligns with our mission for Smarkets – and its prices – to be a leading information source.
“Smarkets News will provide unique angles and fascinating trends from our wide range of sporting and political betting markets. Our exchange has the best odds in the world and we can’t wait to welcome people to a content hub focused on the insight those odds provide.”
Last year, Smarkets’ pure betting app, SBK, which takes prices from the exchange, launched the SBK Betting Podcast hosted by Racing TV’s Jess Stafford.
