Sky Betting & Gaming has launched a comprehensive eSports betting service including both pre-match and live betting through its partnership with Betgenius, eGaming Review has learned.
Earlier this month Betgenius revealed its in-house developed eSports betting service and Sky Bet is the first operator to integrate the offering onto its main site.
The eSports offer covers tournaments including League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Heroes of the Storm, will also be complemented by the addition of live scoreboards and other engagement tools.
“The eSports sector is such a fast growing market that we see great potential in this new offering,” Ben Wright, head of sports trading at Sky Betting & Gaming, said.
“Our partnership with Betgenius and the new opportunities it provides for our customers is a key part of our vision of making betting better.”
“Sky Betting & Gaming has been a critical partner in our journey to success, and the launch of their eSports product through Betgenius’ technology solidifies our long standing partnership,” Mark Locke, CEO of Betgenius, added.
Global eSports enthusiasts were estimated at 89 million in 2014 and are expected to reach 145 million in 2017.
A number of operators have launched eSports products in recent months as the popularity of the activity continues to grow throughout the world.
Last month Betway launched a new eSports microsite while Pinnacle Sports said eSports was its fastest growing market and last December struck its one millionth bet.
