Sky Bet extends Football League sponsorship deal
Operator will continue to be title sponsor of The Football League until 2019
Sky Bet has secured sponsorship of England’s Football League until 2019 after signing a multi-year extension to its current deal.
The new agreement will begin in August 2016 and run until at least 2019 when the title sponsorship will once again become a standalone agreement.
Following the League’s recent rebranding to the EFL, the competition will now be known as the Sky Bet EFL with its three divisions named Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two.
The operator will also be title sponsor of the Sky Bet Play-offs.
Sky Betting & Gaming chief exec Richard Flint said his firm was “proud” to continue its investment in the league and looked forward to “making betting better” for football fans.
“Over the last couple of seasons we’ve loved working with the League, its clubs and the fans and so are delighted to extend Sky Bet’s sponsorship,” he added.
The Football League CEO Shaun Harvey said extending the deal was an excellent way to end an “outstanding year” for league football.
“At a time when The Football League is very much focused on its future, it is great encouragement to see Sky Bet putting their continued faith in our competition and our clubs,” he added.
