Sky Bet boosts leadership team with five senior promotions
Operator announces the promotions of senior personnel across its Bet, Gaming and Technology divisions
Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) has strengthened its leadership team with a number of promotions across all major divisions of the business including a new director of sports betting technology.
The Leeds-headquartered operator last week announced five new appointments across its Bet, Gaming and Technology departments, with Paul McCormick taking up the senior technology role within its sports betting arm.
Meanwhile, the firm’s former head of customer onsite experience, Steve Birch, was named commercial director, Sarah Merrick was moved up into the director of gaming trading performance role and Lee O’Donnell became director of IT infrastructure and security.
The operator has also appointed its former head of data technology, Rob Tuley, as head of engineering in the Gaming division, a new position created by SB&G as part of the restructuring.
“These promotions are thoroughly deserved and represent the latest stage in Sky Betting & Gaming’s development as an independent company,” the operator’s brand and HR director, Rob Painter, said.
“It is particularly pleasing to see people build their careers here and I hope this news will really motivate the many new members of the team that we are taking on,” he added.
News of the promotions comes amid a period of substantial growth in the company’s headcount in recent months which has seen SB&G hire approximately 400 people since March 2015.
Last week it was also announced SB&G and rival operator William Hill had invested ?100m in NYX Gaming Group as part of the supplier’s ?270m deal to acquire OpenBet.
