Sky Betting & Gaming extends Fast Withdrawals to Nationwide customers
Operator expects more than half of its users to take advantage of the real-time withdrawal function by March 2019
Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) has extended its Fast Withdrawals function to all customers with accounts at Nationwide building society, EGR Intel has learned.
SBG initially launched the feature, which enables customers to withdraw funds in near-real-time, for Barclays customers in October last year.
However, thanks to their partnership with Worldpay, SBG has been able to extend the product to additional banks, with plans for all Visa cards to follow in 2019.
Head of product for the Core Tribe, Andy Sacre, told EGR Intel he predicted more than half of SBG’s customers would be using it by March 2019.
Sacre said: “Worldpay and Visa enabling a product that pays out winnings so quickly is a great sign and demonstrates how much they understand the industry and the obvious improvements when it comes to payments.
“We launched a strong product last year in partnership with Barclays, so to be able to roll this out to other banks is something that really excites us. To be able to tackle what customers told us was a big pain-point is a big win all round,” Sacre said.
Product manager for payments, Oliver Andrews, said: “Getting another Visa-bank on board is great for our Nationwide customers.”
Andrews said the operator was working on extending the feature to Mastercard users.
Worldpay powers the product, which was recently launched by Visa in collaboration with issuing banks.
It’s currently being used by a number of industries, including retail and food delivery services.
