Sky Bet hires Adam Brickell from Regulus Partners
EGR understands Brickell has joined the Leeds-based operator from gambling consultancy firm as director of external affairs
Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) has recruited Adam Brickell from gambling consultancy Regulus Partners to lead the operator’s UK-focused external affairs and corporate communications, EGR Intel can reveal.
Brickell has joined the Leeds-based company as director of external affairs and will play an important role in SBG’s safer gambling strategy after Adam Smith moved on from his role as head of corporate communications last month.
Brickell had been a partner at Regulus since February 2017, having previously worked at the British Horseracing Authority for nearly eight years, including four years as director of integrity, legal and risk.
Prior to that he trained and qualified as a solicitor at DLA Piper’s sports and media law practice.

“I’m really pleased to be joining the Sky Betting & Gaming team at an exciting time following its acquisition by The Stars Group,” Brickell said.
“I’m looking forward to playing my part in the continued success and sustainability of the business, as we aspire to set high standards in making betting and gaming safer for our customers.”
Richard Flint, SBG executive chairman, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Adam to the business and to this new position.
“Adam’s experience and skill set make him a great addition to the Sky Betting & Gaming team, where he has an important role to play in the further work we want to do on sustainability and safer gambling.”
Adam Smith, who had headed up SBG’s external and internal communications since July 2015, started his new London-based role as head of communications and policy at the Financial Services Compensation Scheme last month.
