Singapore signs MoU with Alderney regulator
Agreement is first between Asian city-state and a European gambling body.
Singapore’s Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC), its first with a European regulator.
The MoU is designed to strengthen cooperation between the CRA and the AGCC in areas such as sharing information and knowledge in order to combat issues such as money-laundering, organised crime, cheating and problem gaming.
S. Iswaran, Singapore’s second minister for home affairs and trade and industry, told delegates at the International Association of Gaming Regulators’ annual conference in the Asian city-state yesterday: “Through partnerships, regulators can enhance mutual understanding and learning, improve the quality of gaming regulation and be better positioned to meet the emerging regulatory challenges.”
Singapore’s CRA also signed a MoU with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Earlier this year the AGCC signed a MoU with the Alcohol and Gambling Commission of Ontario, and entered into a similar agreement last July with the Danish Gambling Authority.
