Score Media signs William Hill partnership
Deal will see ScoreMobile app feature an integrated Hills mobile sportsbook tab.
Sports media company Score Media Inc. has announced a partnership which will see William Hill’s live betting odds available through its ScoreMobile FC app.
ScoreMobile FC provides live updates for over 100 football leagues worldwide, and as part of the agreement feature an integrated William Hill mobile tab, allowing customers to place bets directly through the app. The product is one of three apps developed by Score Media, alongside ScoreMobile and SportsTab, which attract around 3.6m unique visitors a month.
The deal marks the second time Hills’ mobile sportsbook has been integrated into a media brand’s app, after the operator partnered with the Racing Post to launch an app. The company also signed a deal with the English Football Association to use the English national team’s branding and player image rights across online and offline products “ the first bookmaker to do so.
Hills’ mobile sportsbook has seen rapid growth over the past few years. The company revealed in its full-year results for 2011, announced in February, that a target of achieving a weekly turnover of £5m from the product by mid-2013 had already been surpassed. As a result group CEO Ralph Topping (pictured) announced that Hills would look to derive 40% of sportsbook revenues from mobile by 2014.
Score Media executive vice president and CEO Benjie Levy commented: “We’re really excited about this new partnership, and we believe the integration of betting into our app makes ScoreMobile FC a must have for all football fans across the UK.”
The app is currently only available to UK customers on the Blackberry and iOS platforms, with a Windows Live smartphone variant currently in development.
