Riot Games inks esports data partnership
Publishing giant partners with Latam-facing Barracks to include data in global esports broadcasts
League of Legends publisher Riot Games has inked a data partnership with Chilean technology firm Barracks.
Under the remit of the deal, Barracks will collate and display esports data from competitions involving Riot Games’ titles during esports broadcasts.
The global partnership will make its mark across six continents, in conjunction with the locations of Riot Games’ esports teams.
Barracks’ technology will be used for the first time during the Valorant First Strike tournament.
First Strike is the first esports competition for Riot Games’ five-versus-five multiplayer title Valorant, and is due to conclude on 6 December.
Pablo Díaz-Muñoz, Barracks CEO, said: “We are passionate about extending our work together with the largest esports organiser in the world and contributing positively to provide a better show to the millions of fans in every corner of the planet.
“We are an agent of change in the industry and we are extremely happy to understand the scope of this project with Riot Games,” he added.
