Resorts Casino reveals New Jersey egaming plans
Sportech deal has no impact on partnership with PokerStars, which it plans to launch alongside Full Tilt brand in the Garden State
Resorts Casino has revealed its battle plans for the egaming market in New Jersey following last week’s announcement that a joint venture between Sportech and NYX Gaming would supply the operator with its online casino platform.
Resorts CEO Mark Giannantonio said he was “thrilled” by the partnership with SNG Interactive, and that the deal would allow them to “bring New Jersey online gamers a fresh, unique and user-friendly experience” through its ResortsCasino.com site.
The deal has no impact on Resorts’ existing partnership with PokerStars which it signed back in June 2013, with the land-based operator confirming that it planned to launch both the PokerStars and Full Tilt brands in the Garden State.
Land-based operators can run up to five sites or “skins” from their interactive gaming licence in New Jersey, meaning Resorts could operate its ResortsCasino.com platform, as well as PokerStars and Full Tilt-branded sites.
“We welcomed the recent announcement by Amaya Gaming of its plans to acquire the Rational Group which we expect will move the regulatory approval process forward,” Morris Bailey, owner of the Resorts Casino, said.
“PokerStars is the leading world-wide brand in online gaming and we are looking forward to our future with them in New Jersey. This is an exciting era of gaming and we are confident it will be another positive stepping stone in Resorts storied history,” he added.
Amaya has already begun licensing talks with the New Jersey regulator, as revealed eGaming Review sister publication eGR North America last week.
Sportech CEO Ian Penrose said he didn’t anticipate any regulatory hurdles with its casino platform, which it plans to launch by January 2015.
