Rank Interactive boosts Group results
Rank Interactive's revenues have grown double those of its parent company, according to its interim results which were released this morning.
Rank Interactive has seen its revenues double those of its holding company, it announced during its interim results this morning.
Rank Group saw revenue grow 7%, while online arm Rank Interactive grew 15%. Rank Interactive, which owns websites including Blue Square, Mecca Bingo and G Casino, was the star performer among Rank Group’s divisions, with total revenue growth of 15% over the full 40 weeks. Over the weeks 27 to 40 of the period, Rank Interactive’s total revenue grew 26% due to “investment in marketing, the re-launch of the Blue Square sports betting site and an improvement in sports book margin,” the company said in a statement. Sportsbook grew 34% during the same period.
eGaming Review reported in the Summer that Mecca Bingo and the relaunched G Casino brand had helped Rank Group’s revenue growth.
Rank Group’s land-based gaming divisions, Grosvenor Casinos, Mecca Bingo and Top Rank Espana, all grew in revenue over the period.
With regard to online gaming, the statement said: “We note that the Government is still considering changes to the regulation of remote gambling in Great Britain as well as the taxation of amusement machines. We have made it clear that we would support these measures so long as they are delivered within the context of a broader equalisation of regulatory and fiscal conditions for land-based operators.”
Rank will publish a pre-close trading update on 9 December 2010. The Group’s full-year financial results will be released on 25 February 2011.
