Raketech hires former Catena Media sales exec as CMO
Industry veteran Klas Winberg joins the Malta-based affiliate firm in newly-created role
Raketech has recruited former Catena Media VP of sales and marketing Klas Winberg as its new chief marketing officer (CMO).
Winberg started his new role on 4 November and is based in Raketech’s Malta office, reporting into CEO Michael Holmberg.
He will primarily be responsible for the B2B aspects of the affiliate business, including sales and branding, and will also be tasked with finding new revenue streams.
The CMO position is a newly-created role within Raketech, following the Q3 departure of co-founder and director Johan Svensson, who also served as company CCO.
Raketech CEO Michael Holmberg said of the appointment: “With his long career within egaming and through the last year’s growth journey that Catena Media experienced, Klas brings vast experience and know-how to our management team and to Raketech overall.”

Winberg spent nearly four years at Raketech rival Catena Media and also worked as a country manager for Betfair between 2006 and 2012.
He said: “I am very excited about the opportunity to join Raketech as it’s a company that has battled bravely through the turbulence in the Swedish market this year.
“We are now about the set into motion a great expansion journey into new geographies.
“We have taken investments and brought in skilled staff to do this, and I truly believe that we will deliver strong growth in the coming years and I can’t wait to be a leading part of that,” he added.
Raketech yesterday reported a Q3 revenue decrease of 15% to €6m.
