Product investment sees Betfair mobile revenues soar
Mobile sportsbook revenue performs strongly in H1 as operator reports 70% of total sportsbook turnover from mobile
Betfairâs mobile revenues soared on the back of continued product investment in the platform with the operator now deriving 70% of total sportsbook revenues from the platform.
Boosted by this summerâs football World Cup Betfairâs total mobile sportsbook revenue reached a record high for the six month period ended 31 October, while mobile gaming revenue also recorded a dramatic increase as it rose 145% year-on-year.
But the operator offered no insight into what percentage of total gaming revenues were derived from mobile.
Betfair chief executive Breon Corcoran said the firmâs investment in product had âsubstantially strengthenedâ its competitive position and allowed Betfair to differentiate âin a crowded market placeâ.
The operatorâs mobile product push has seen it revamp its suite of mobile casino apps, launch an overhauled tablet-optimised exchange product and complete the roll-out of single sign-on functionality across its product portfolio in recent months.
Last month the firm revealed it was working on adding Touch ID log-in capabilities for its mobile apps, following on from Sky Betâs lead.
