Pragmatic Play acquires live casino supplier from Novomatic
Games provider aims to tap into the popularity of live casino with purchase of Extreme Live Gaming
Games provider Pragmatic Play has acquired Novomatic’s live casino solutions firm Extreme Live Gaming for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition will see Pragmatic Play add Extreme Live Gaming’s selection of live dealer games to its existing range of verticals alongside video slots, scratchcards and bingo.
Extreme Live Gaming operates ten roulette, blackjack and baccarat tables from its London studios and is certified by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
Pragmatic Play CCO Melissa Summerfield said: “The name Extreme Live Gaming stands for quality and innovation, and we are delighted to enhance our multi-vertical gaming strategy with this acquisition, further cementing our position as a leading industry provider.
“The popularity of live casino has grown hugely in recent years, and the vertical holds a great deal of potential.
“We have every confidence that our passion and drive for going beyond our clients and players’ expectations will help us to realise that potential,” she added.
RB Capital co-founder Julian Buhagiar said of the deal: “This could well be a relatively inexpensive acquisition and savvy diversification play, particularly if it is looking to further expand its operator-customer base in Scandinavia and, more importantly, across Asia, a market that suits Extreme’s product portfolio and where players lean towards live casino products.
“It’s not often you see M&A movement in the live casino space largely due to dominant players including Evolution, Playtech, and relative newcomers NetEnt, claiming the lions’ share of the European market,” he added.
