PopCap launches Monopoly slot
Game launched as part of licensing agreement with Hasbro.
Social games developer Popcap Games has launched the Monopoly Party slot on its Facebook app Lucky Gem Casino.
The game, launched following a licensing agreement with board games Hasbro, joins proprietary titles based on games such as Bejeweled and Zuma on the social casino.
Despite only going live in February, Lucky Gem Casino already boasts 860,000 monthly active users according to AppData, having peaked at 1,000,000 earlier this month.
This week also saw the app record its highest ever number of daily active users, with the total of 220,000 seeing it surpass fellow developer Blitzoo’s SlotSpot app (200,000 according to AppData).
PopCap franchise business director Bart Barden said: “We’ve worked hard to create a spinning reel game experience that truly reflects the shared fun and excitement of MONOPOLY as represented across a wide range of gaming platforms while also maintaining the ultra-high standards that MONOPOLY fans expect.”
