Poll: What will be the buzz phrase of ICE?
With the world's largest gaming exhibition taking place next week, we ask what issue will be on everybody's lips
Ice Totally Gaming 2015 arrives in London next week bringing with it three days of product launches, conferences, networking opportunities and contract negotiations as the gaming industry descends on the capital.
The exhibition is viewed as the key platform for service providers to launch new products as well as one where the good the bad and the rest of the industry meet to discuss what will drive the sector forward.
Recent exhibitions have seen a major focus the development within the mobile space and while touch technology will still be a big selling point at ICE, it could well play a supporting role to a number of other emerging hot topics within the industry.
As multi-channel develops into omni-channel, we should expect to see an array of products designed to bring the land-based and online industry closer together with many operators increasingly looking to drive retail customers into the online and mobile space.
By the time of ICE, the UK Point of Consumption tax will also have been active for two months so there should be plenty of advice on offer about how the industry should go about its business in a post-PoC world.
There remains a huge buzz around impending M&A activity, not least from some of the major suppliers at the show, but operators will also be looking at reducing costs, enhancing market strategies, and geographical diversification during 2015.
Personalisation and customisation is another key trend and while both have long been a hot-topic in the industry, as yet, no one has really shown their hand and we expect to see some innovative products aiming to fill this gap.
In addition, the development of application programming interfaces, or APIs, might also rise up the agenda this year as operators look for ways simplify the process of customising products for particular markets and to take more control over their front end.
With this in mind, this week’s eGR poll asks what issue you think will be most discussed during the three-day event. Have your say on the right-hand side of the page.
