Poll results: Mobile innovations crucial for growth
Three quarters of respondents to this week's poll feel new technology will provide a boost for egaming revenues
Technology innovations on mobile such as TouchID login will be a crucial for revenue growth, the majority of respondents to this week’s eGaming Review poll have said.
Last week SkyBet unveiled the addition of TouchID to its mobile application and announced it was to launch a trial of iBeacon technology at English Football League stadiums in an attempt to boost activity on its mobile sportsbook.
The news follows other egaming operators looking to stand-out on mobile with Betfair confirming its interest in launching a sportsbook product for Google Glass and various firms understood to be looking into potential products for smartwatches.
Three quarters of respondents felt that innovations will be crucial to CRM and customer engagement and will in turn drive revenue growth on the platform, while a further 11% were of the opinion it was still too early to predict any impact innovations are likely to have.
Just 14% of respondents felt that new technology would not have any material impact on revenues, concluding the additions to be gimmicks and that operators would be better served investing in core product and marketing.
