Poll results: Facebook set for wave of real-money partnerships
Readers expecting flurry of activity on social network following Gamesys' real-money slots and bingo launch last week.
With Gamesys’ real-money slots and bingo games live on Facebook, attention now turns to which operators will follow them in partnering with the social network.
Facebook has admitted it is open to further “private commercial ventures”, and it appears most likely that it will partner with operators will a proven track record in both real-money and social environments.
How many operator partners will be signed up – and how soon – is unknown. However Facebook has been in such talks for some time, having courted various operators since the end of last year when eGR revealed it was poised for real-money gaming, with names such as 888 and Jackpot Party mentioned.
It seems eGR readers are expecting a flurry of activity in the coming months, with 36% believing Facebook will announce 10 or more real-money partners before the end of the year, and 18% suggesting there will be five or more.
A third (33%) believe the social network will take a more cautious approach, saying it will link up with just three more operators, while 13% believe just one more will be named.
In an interview with eGR its our 100th issue published next week, WMS president Orrin Edidin admitted his company was part of a “beauty contest” and that “we’re all talking to the same people” at Facebook, hinting that behind the scenes talks with potential suitors are in full swing.
