Poll results: Casino is best fit for Facebook RMG
Respondents to eGR poll consider poker to be least likely vertical to succeed on social network
Casino is the vertical best suited to real-money gaming (RMG) on Facebook, according to eGR readers who responded to this week’s poll.
With real-money slots offerings already live on Facebook courtesy of Gamesys, 888, and the Plumbee and Unibet joint venture Bonza Gaming, 37% of readers consider casino to be best placed to cash in on the potential RMG on the social network holds.
Poker, meanwhile, was voted the vertical least likely to succeed, with just 17% of respondents backing it. Although the vertical maintains a strong fan base and the market is primed with various freeplay equivalents, concerns may still linger over the conversion of these customers to real-money gamers.
Securing 27% of the vote, bingo is the second favourite to achieve real-money success on the social network. The vertical was first to have an RMG presence on Facebook after Gamesys launched Bingo Friendzy last August, and the social network’s target audience aligns well with the vertical’s demographic.
Sports betting is as yet an unproven vertical in the social space, however Paddy Power’s Paddy Power In-Play! Facebook application will provide a test case when it is launched in the coming weeks. Time will tell how much of a coup this will be for Paddys, however just 19% of eGR readers said sports betting is the most suited vertical for Facebook success.
