Poll: Can slots cash-out replicate sportsbook success?
After Colossus Bets unveiled its new innovation last week, eGR asks whether slots cash-out will take-off
Last week Colossus Bets, in conjunction with CORE Gaming and Sky Betting & Gaming, unveiled its brand new cash-out feature enabling customers to for the first time bank profits when playing slots games.
The slots cash-out product, or Fracpot as it has been called, has been debuted by Sky Bet and Colossus Bets chief executive Bernard Marantelli said he expected the innovation would have a “transformational impact” on the vertical.
Fracpot has a £1m prize pot and hands players the chance to cash-out their position between reels being resolved, including the option to cash out in part and continue playing for the jackpot.
According to Sky Bet, the feature has presented the firm with an opportunity to cross-sell the product to its sportsbook customers, which have become accustomed to having the cash-out option with their sports bets.
Cash-out in sportsbooks has grown in enormously in recent years and is now part and parcel of the sports betting experience – improving the UX, increasing customer time on site and also in-play turnover.
However, with slots cash-out still in its infancy, the jury is still out on whether this innovation can enjoy a similar level of success to its sportsbook variant.
With this in mind, this week’s eGaming Review poll asks whether you believe slots cash-out will prove to be a success in the longer-term. Have your say on the right-hand side of the page.
