Poll results: Live sport unlikely to become a feature of live casino rooms
Majority of respondents believe Coral’s screening of Cheltenham races in live casino is unlikely to catch on
EGR Intel readers have cast doubt on whether the streaming of live sporting events to players in live casino rooms is ready to become a feature of the industry.
Last week, Coral claimed an “industry first” when beaming live races to its live casino players in a specially branded “Cheltenham Room” for the duration of the four-day festival.
The operator offered live casino players racing-related bonuses with increased pay outs on roulette numbers that corresponded with the race card numbers of winning horses.
The costs of running the service appeared pretty low, therefore Coral had little to lose by attempting to innovate around one of the largest betting events of the sporting calendar.
Yet, despite the apparent prudent nature of the service, 57% of respondents to this week’s poll felt the streaming of live sporting events to live casino rooms was unlikely to catch on.
However, the remaining 43% were a little more positive, perhaps seeing the value in keeping players at the roulette wheel, indicating the idea could soon be replicated by other operators.
