Pokerstrategy and bwin.party end relationship
Commercial agreement between operator and Power Affiliate comes to a close, months after Pokerstrategy's relationship with Full Tilt Poker ended.
Power Affiliate Pokerstrategy.com has ended its partnership with bwin.party, an agreement which had covered the bwin, PartyPoker and WPT Poker brands.
The affiliate has announced its intention to give frequent player points (‘StrategyPoints’) to those players already signed up to the affected poker rooms, however as of last Friday it permitted no new sign-ups.
Bwin.party completed the consolidation of players from all its brands last month, four months after announcing it would do so and more than a year-and-a-half after the company was formed by the merger between bwin and PartyGaming, however there is no indication that this liquidity merger has directly affected the latest development.
The end to the partnership is – according to a bwin.party spokesman – merely the end of a commercial relationship. As such, eGR understands it is different in nature from the termination of Pokerstrategy.com’s relationship with Full Tilt Poker, which was accused by the affiliate of having “retrospectively” removed tracking from its players.
In that instance, the approximately 485,000 Full Tilt players who signed up with Pokerstrategy.com also ceased to earn StrategyPoints when the operator relaunched under new ownership in November.
The spokesman for bwin.party said the operator had nothing further to add on the matter, while Pokerstrategy.com also had no further comment when contacted by eGR.
