PokerStars launches biggest marketing campaign to date
Football stars Ronaldo and Neymar Jr will star in the poker giant's global social media and television advertising campaign
PokerStars has launched the “biggest marketing campaign” in its history featuring football stars and PokerStars’ brand ambassadors Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr.
The campaign is already underway on Facebook with Ronaldo and Neymar’s Facebook fans given an exclusive preview of videos ahead of their TV launch in two weeks’ time.
Stars said the campaign would combine the social media reach of Ronaldo and Neymar, who between them have 157 million fans on Facebook, with sophisticated marketing tools to engage gaming and sports fans.
“This is the biggest PokerStars marketing campaign in history and we are excited to launch with exclusive distribution on Facebook,” Michael Hazel, interim CEO of the Rational Group, said.
“Both videos show how each of the stars love the game of poker in their own unique way. The vast numbers of fans who engage with both stars make Facebook a great platform to reach a big audience,” he added.
Ronaldo and Neymar star in short videos produced by commercial and music video director Vaughan Arnell, and were shot on location in Madrid and Barcelona.
Each video features poker as the centrepiece of the athletes’ evening with friends, and highlights the fun, social and competitive aspects of the game.
PokerStars announced it had signed Ronaldo and Neymar Jr as brand ambassadors earlier in the year, as part of plans to double the size of the poker market in the next five years.
