PokerStars launches new peer-to-peer betting exchange
Offering will allow players access to the same liquidity pool as the Betfair Exchange in latest product development
Flutter Entertainment-owned PokerStars has launched a brand new peer-to-peer betting exchange as it looks to diversify its sports betting offering. Launched on 21 April, the PokerStars Exchange will offer customers the opportunity to buy and sell bets with the global PokerStars community. The new exchange will see players share the liquidity pool with the Betfair Exchange, another of Flutter Entertainment’s brands. The PokerStars Exchange is available at .com and .EU addresses and uses Flutter’s proprietary technology to power the platform. PokerStars noted it would bring the new product into “wider regulated territories later in the year”. Richard Garrod, PokerStars director of product, said: “We’re always looking at ways to bring PokerStars players something new, and to be able to do that in collaboration with our colleagues over at the world’s largest betting exchange is a huge privilege. “Our research suggests that our customers would welcome the addition of an exchange product, with 70% of current sports bettors saying they want to get involved,” he added. Customers will be able to access the PokerStars Exchange using their existing login details. Flutter Entertainment recently beat off stiff competition to bag its third consecutive top spot in EGR’s US Power Rankings.
