Poker Channel undergoes rebrand
Gaming Media Group-owned brand will be known as The Player Channel as it broadens out to cover casino, games and sports betting.
Gaming Media Group brand The Poker Channel will rebrand as The Player Channel on 3 December as the operator looks to broaden the scope of its television outlet.
The Poker Channel will continue to exist as a sub-brand, however the revamped offering will also focus on casino, games and sports betting as well as its core poker programming.
GMG will introduce two new programmes following the rebrand: The Punter Show and Best of the Bets “ the latter an in-house production which will be hosted by former Sky and ESPN presenter Christina Nicolaides.
Both are dedicated sports betting shows, while The Player Channel will also carry coverage of roulette and blackjack tournaments, among other content, while it will contain a sidebar carrying live sports betting odds on rotation.
Meanwhile, the channel has this week undergone a significant rollout in Australasia, trebling its reach to 90m homes as a consequence of a deal with global distribution company SatLink Communications.
On 3 December viewers will also be able to watch The Player Channel on tablets or smartphone devices as the new site launches desktop and mobile versions.
