Playtech joins Gaming Standards Association
London-listed software supplier joins ranks of WMS, IGT and Bally as a Platinum member
Playtech has joined the Gaming Standards Association (GSA), becoming the first platinum member of the trade association whose business is primarily egaming-related.
The Israeli supplier is to take a leadership role in the GSA’s online gaming committee, set up to create online gaming standards as more and more US states look towards regulating online gaming markets.
“Playtech joining the association will be a driving force supporting our strategic plan and ensuring the association’s continued relevance within the industry,” Peter DeRaedt, president of the GSA, said.
Playtech COO Shay Segev believes Playtech’s presence in the GSA will enable the software supplier to contribute towards the GSA’s development of gaming standards within the industry.
“The addition to GSA will also allow us to enhance our open platform functionality and ensure unification across providers’ offerings that will enable endless possibilities in terms of content integration,” Segev added.
Established in 1998, the GSA claims to help facilitate interoperability and communication between its members to benefit the gaming industry, and includes members over various membership levels that range from bronze to platinum.
Platinum members also include traditionally land-based suppliers such as IGT, Bally and GTECH.
