Pinnacle Sports launches first native app
âPinnacle Liteâ offers markets on six sports with price alerts functionality
Pinnacle Sports has launched its first native app as the betting giant continues to upgrade its mobile offering in 2016.
The new Pinnacle Lite app offers a streamlined version of the main sportsbook product with markets available on football, basketball, ice hockey, American football, baseball and tennis. It is currently only available on iOS, with an Android version on the way.
In an attempt to differentiate the app from the mobile site, which was also upgraded last month, Pinnacle Lite visualises recent odds changes in a chart, and lets users set alerts when a game reaches a certain price.
âNo more sitting and waiting for the right odds â the bet will come to you,â Pinnacle said in a statement.
The app, which was developed in-house by Pinnacle Sportsâ newly-created product R&D team, is currently available on app stores in Russia, Canada, Poland, Ukraine and Finland.
âWe all know that mobile devices are now the preferred interface of choice for the astute bettor,â Pinnacle Sports marketing director Harry Lang said.
âThe Pinnacle Lite App is the first of our innovations this year that combines our market leading odds with an intuitive, simple and easy mobile user interface. Weâre incredibly excited about its potential as well as whatâs to comeâ.
Elijah Pollock, COO of Pinnacle Sports said the new app demonstrated the firmâs intent to leverage new technologies to give customers âmodern betting experiencesâ.
Pinnacle chief executive Paris Smith recently told EGR that increasing mobile capability was one of the companyâs main aims for 2016, alongside increased targeting of markets, or in other words making the site feel more European for European customers.
Smith also said the operator was preparing to return to the UK after being forced to exit the market 18 months ago due to regulatory reasons.
