Peter Steiner promoted to chairman of Zeal
Incumbent Andreas de Maizière to step down in June after six years in the role

Zeal has appointed current board member Peter Steiner to be its new chairman, replacing Andreas de Maizière after six years at the helm.
As part of the transition, de Maizière has resigned from the board, with the handover taking effect at the conclusion of the online lottery operator’s AGM in June.
“After heading the supervisory board of Zeal for six years, I have decided to step down from my position,” de Maizière said.
“Zeal is set up for future growth and now is a good point in time for me to pass the chairmanship of the supervisory board to Peter, as planned. It has been a great pleasure to serve on the Supervisory Board of Zeal.”
Steiner has been a member of the supervisory board and chairman of the firm’s audit committee since 2013.
He is an independent auditor and has served in CEO and CFO positions at several other Frankfurt-listed companies.
Zeal CEO Helmut Becker added: “On behalf of the management board, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for Andreas de Maizière’s leadership as chairman of the supervisory board.
“With his outstanding experience and expertise, he has been an important sparring partner for the management team during his tenure. We look forward to continuing this excellent cooperation with our future chairman, Peter Steiner.”
