Betclic’s Isabelle Andrès replaced as CEO by company founder
Operator re-hires former CEO Nicolas Béraud who promises to “reinvent” Betclic
Betclic Everest Group has hired company founder and former CEO, Nicolas Béraud, to replace Isabelle Andrès as the operator’s new CEO.
Béraud founded the Paris-based company back in 2005 and served as chief executive until 2011, before launching free-to-play mobile games developer TripleFun in 2013.
He replaces Andrès who has led the company as CEO for nearly five years having previously worked for Betclic in financial and corporate development roles since 2009.
Betclic said Andrès was leaving to “take on new challenges” and would continue to serve as a board member of Betclic-owned brand bet-at-home.com.
Ladbrokes on hunt for Australia CEO as planned successor departs
Ladbrokes Australia chief operating officer Paul Cherry has left the firm, EGR Intel has learned, just weeks before he was due to succeed outgoing CEO Dean Shannon.
Cherry’s departure means Ladbrokes currently has nobody lined-up to replace Shannon, who is due to leave the firm on 25 February.
Last year, the operator revealed Cherry would take over the reins from Shannon, who had announced he would be leaving the firm due to “personal reasons”.

Betsson strengthens senior trading team with Coral hire
Betsson Group has bolstered its sportsbook management team after appointing former Coral Interactive senior trader Richard Scott as head of global trading, EGR Intel has learned.
Scott, who joined Coral from William Hill in 2012, is due to begin new role at Betsson’s Malta base at the end of the month where he will report into former Coral colleague Nick Maurice.
Maurice, who joined Betsson as trading director last May having previously held the same role at Coral, said the hire of Scott formed part of the Group’s investment into the vertical.

William Hill Aus reduces IT headcount
William Hill has made a number of staffers from its Australia-facing business redundant, EGR Intel has learned.
The company informed staff on Monday of its decision to let approximately 40 people go from the business, the majority of whom worked as contractors or within William Hill Australia’s IT department.
However, a company spokesperson this morning downplayed the departures and said it was part of the operator’s long-term plan Down Under.

Ex-Coral sportsbook chief O’Loughlin joins NYX
Former Ladbrokes Coral sportsbook director Keith O’Loughlin has joined NYX Gaming Group to head up the supplier’s global sportsbook operations.
O’Loughlin is set to take on the role of executive vice president sportsbook later this year, reporting to chief operating officer Jason Walbridge.
Before the Ladbrokes Coral merger, O’Loughlin spent over two years as sportsbook director at Coral Interactive. Last month he was named chief product officer of the combined group.

Jackpotjoy Group hires new chief commercial officer
Jackpotjoy Group (JPJ) has appointed former Microsoft chief marketing officer, Mikah Martin-Cruz, as its new chief commercial officer.
Martin Cruz will be primarily focused on driving growth for JPJ’s Vera&John and InterCasino brands, the newly-relocated operator said.
He will start his new role on 5 February and be based in JPJ’s Malta office.
