William Hill in management overhaul following trio of senior resignations
Director of sportsbook, gaming CPO and chief experience officer all resign while chief customer officer role culled in structural reorganisation
William Hill has parted company with four senior members of its management team with director of sportsbook Stuart Weston, gaming chief product officer James Curwen and chief experience officer Juergen Reutter all quitting the firm, EGR Intel has learned.
The trio left the operator in recent weeks and, speaking to EGR Intel, Crispin Nieboer, William Hill Online MD, said the men had left for “the right reasons”.
“I don’t want to go into details about where they are going or what they are doing but they are not going to competitors,” Neiboer said.
“They have all been with us for a good amount of time and they are leaving for all the right reasons rather than the wrong reasons and leaving the business in very good shape,” he added.
Former William Hill CTO Finbarr Joy joins up with Jamie Hart at Superbet
Former William Hill CTO Finbarr Joy has agreed to join Superbet, EGR Intel has learned, and by doing so becomes the third ex-Hills senior staffer hired by the ambitious Romanian operator in as many months.
Joy, who left William Hill at the beginning of last year, is currently working out his final weeks at telecommunications company Lebara ahead of his switch to Superbet, where he will become group CTO next month.
The move will see Joy team up with former Hills colleagues Jamie Hart and Peter Morgan, who EGR Intel revealed had been hired by Superbet in February, as the operator looks to build its online and retail presence outside of its home market.
Speaking to EGR Intel this morning, Joy, who will build a Superbet technology hub in central Leeds, said the decision to move to the firm was a simple one, particularly once he had spoken with CEO Sacha Dragic.

Booming Sky Bet doubles headcount in two years
Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) this morning revealed it’s managed to double its headcount in the two years since becoming an independent company and plans to add a further 100 staffers over the next few months.
Since Sky sold 80% of the business to CVC Capital Partners in 2015, the Yorkshire-based company has made a total of 937 job offers and recruited 43 graduates, which has brought its total headcount to approximately 1,200.
The rapid growth has seen SB&G expand from two sites to seven, having supplemented its Leeds HQ and Oddschecker office in London with a tech hub in Sheffield, a customer hub in central Leeds, offices in Italy and Germany and the acquisition of Solihull-based Core Gaming.
