Penn National Gaming recruits Apple finance veteran as new CFO
Dave Williams will join the Nasdaq-listed casino giant in March 2020
Penn National Gaming has hired Apple veteran Dave Williams as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
Williams spent 20 years as a finance executive with technology behemoth Apple, most recently as division CFO for its B2B software subsidiary, Claris.
He will join Penn National Gaming on 3 March, replacing existing CFO William Fair, and will report directly into chief executive Jay Snowden.
In his new role, Williams will be responsible for the company’s financial and treasury functions, as well as helping to develop strategic growth initiatives across egaming and sports betting.
Snowden said: “Dave brings extensive technology, financial and strategic growth experience to his new role.
“His background will be an invaluable asset to our senior management team, finance and accounting departments and our board of directors as we evolve from the nation’s largest regional gaming operator, with 41 properties in 19 states, to a best-in-class omni-channel provider of retail and online gaming and sports betting entertainment,” he added.
Williams said: “I am very impressed by Penn National’s strategic vision and look forward to taking part in the company’s ongoing growth story, which focuses heavily on my expertise in the interactive space.”
In November, Penn National confirmed it would take a localised approach to advertising its gambling services across the US.
