PartyPoker takes Poker Operator Of The Year
PartyGaming's flagship poker product has won the Poker operator of the year trophy at the EGR Awards, the industry awards for the online gaming sector.
PARTYGAMING’S FLAGSHIP PARTYPOKER product has won the Poker operator of the year trophy at the EGR awards, the industry awards for the online gaming sector.
The group’s poker platform proved resilient in 2009 in the face of the marketing onslaught and reach of US sites taking full advantage of their bigger liquidities and managed to maintain its position as the biggest non-US stand alone poker site in online gaming.
The company has made some prudent acquisitions to complement its poker and casino products, and still has the industry’s most advanced plans regarding operating in the US in the future.
Collecting the trophy, PartyGaming poker director Moshe Davidovich said: “we work very hard to try and stay ahead of the game, and it’s great to be noticed for that.”
Also shortlisted was 888, whose poker liquidity was boosted this year by new signings by Dragonfish, including that of the eye catching Harrah’s Interactive Entertainment for Europe.
Gaming Media Group was shortlisted after it boosted poker revenues by 65% on the previous year, driven by innovations such as ThePlayerZone, a customisable portal that provides players with the information they need to improve their games.
Ladbrokes was shortlisted after having joined the Microgaming poker network in February, blasting its daily peak poker player base of circa 5,000 members with 17,000 new ones. The business also invested in a range of branded promotional events such as Ladbrokes Irish Poker Festival, Poker Experience and Vegas Dream.
PKR made the shortlist by augmenting its trademark 3D offering with a strong emphasis on ‘player community’ that has included social networking features, a vibrant forum, editorial, podcasts and an online TV station.
