Paf exits UK market
CEO Christer Fahlstedt tells EGR there was "little sense" in keeping GB licence
à land–based operator Paf has exited the UK market and will instead focus on its core Baltic business, CEO Christer Fahlstedt has confirmed to eGaming Review.
Access to Paf’s online site has been restricted from UK customers and Fahlstedt confirmed it will no longer operate in the market.
“We have never actively targeted the UK market and it is not in our strategy for the coming 12-24 months so it made little sense to keep the licence,” Fahlstedt told EGR.
“Our current focus is the region around the Baltic Sea,” he added.
The departure from the UK is the first strategic move since Fahlstedt was appointed as Paf’s new CEO in June this year.
Fahlstedt replaced Anders Ingves, who was dismissed earlier this year after the Paf board felt it “needed a different type of leader to successfully expand internationally”.
The firm posted a 17% rise in full-year revenues in 2015 with its digital numbers boosted by the acquisition of Italian operator Winga in December 2014 as well as the addition of online slots in Spain last summer.
