Paddys on the up in Oddschecker rankings
Irish operator takes third place in November table behind long-time front runners bet365 and Betfair
Paddy Power was the only climber in Oddschecker’s bet slip click rankings for November as the operator moved-up one spot to third place during a month which saw bet365 continue its dominance at the top.
The Irish operator’s market share improved from 10.06% in October to 10.96% last month with its rise coming at the expense of BetVictor which was relegated to fourth place after posting a 10.53% share, down from 10.9%.
Elsewhere, bet365 and Betfair kept hold of the top two positions with market shares of 21.37% and 12.19% respectively, almost identical scores to the previous month.
And positions five to 10 also remained unchanged as William Hill (8.88%), Sky Bet (7.28%) and Coral (6.59%) all posted slightly lower returns for the month while Ladbrokes (5.35%), Betfred (2.77%) and Betway (2.77%) each returned marginally increased shares.
Arguably the biggest sporting event of the month was the 2016 European Championship play-offs with the eight ties resulting in a tight operator battle between the top three of bet365 (14.73%), Paddy Power (13.71%) and BetVictor (13.2%).
Bet365 also claimed the spoils for the percentage of bet referrals for the TV talent show The X Factor with a 16.12% market share, followed closely by Coral on 15.94%.
