Paddys and Lads comms chiefs join Senet board
Catherine Colloms and Donal McCabe replace Coral's Fiona Thorne and William Hill's David Steele
The Senet Group has appointed Paddy Power director of corporate affairs Catherine Colloms and Ladbrokes group corporate communications director Donal McCabe to its board of directors.
The duo have replaced the outgoing Fiona Thorne of Gala Coral and David Steele of William Hill after the duo’s one-year term came to an end at the start of the year.
The new directors join a board comprised of Senet Group chair Wanda Goldwag and independent directors Suzanne McCarthy and Gillian Wilmot.
The self-regulatory body was established in September 2014 along with founding members William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral and Paddy Power. The quartet was last year joined by Scottish operator Scotbet.
“It is really valuable to have the support of big gambling companies in our endeavour to reduce gambling-related harm,” Goldwag said.
“I welcome Catherine and Donal and would also like to thank Fi and David for their contribution over the last year,” she added.
Colloms said the Senet Group “continues to advance the responsible gambling agenda” and has a “key role” in educating punters and the general public about gambling related harm and keeping play fun.
“In 2016, Senet will focus on a broader range of issues as our membership hopefully expands into other sectors of the industry,” she added.
In November the Senet Group launched a fresh advertising campaign in an attempt to alert the public to the dangers of gambling to excess.
The Group is also understood to be in advanced discussions with a major online gambling firm as it looks to expand its membership.
