Paddy Power boosts marketing clout with new hires
PR department led by head of mischief Ken Robertson gets new team member
Paddy Power has strengthened its marketing team with the appointment of a new sportsbook marketing manager and a new addition to its ‘mischief’ department.
Former John Lewis brand marketing manager Anna Braithwaite joins the Irish operator’s sportsbook marketing team with responsibility for leading Paddy Power’s horse-racing and football brand campaigns. Meanwhile, ex-Beattie McGuiness Bungay account director Harry Dromey will work under head of mischief Ken Robertson.
Commenting on the new hires marketing director Christian Woolfenden told Marketing magazine the pair “will make fantastic additions to the team, each bringing with them a wealth of top-level experience and, most importantly, a good sense of fun.
“They will be central to ensuring Paddy Power continues to wow, excite and entertain audiences,” he added.
Robertson’s mischief-making has kept the operator firmly in the spotlight over recent years. Last year it agreed to pay the 100,000 fine meted out to Nicklas Bendtner by European football authority UEFA after the Danish striker exposed underwear carrying the operator’s logo during the European Championships in Poland.
