Paddy Power: new launches coming soon
Paddy Power looks to new mobile and tablet launches to boost growth following disappointing sportsbook revenues
Paddy Power has announced it will launch a series of in-house developed, mobile device-optimised products over the next few months. New launches are expected before Q1 2014 in its core sportsbook app where a cash out feature is due to be added as well as new tablet-optimised apps.
The Irish firm made the announcement in its Q3 results where it added it was now seeing 47% of total online revenues coming through mobile. With 63% of its active customers using mobile during October it is looking to expand its product range after the launch of a new tablet games app in October and a live casino app in November.
The Irish firm is looking to mobile to boost growth after a tough third quarter that has seen online sportsbook revenue fall by 11% after a run of poor sporting results. “Mobile remains at the core of our growth strategy in all our online markets,” a Paddy Power statement said. Paddy Power’s in-house development is driven by its Bulgaria-based Cayetano subsidiary.
PaddyPower currently has one of the broadest range of iOS gaming apps with Games, Vegas, Real Money Casino, Roller, Deal or no Deal, Bingo and Live Casino apps available on the App Store as well as its core Sportsbook product. The firm has yet to launch a mobile poker app, despite two of its partners on the iPoker network, Titan Poker and bet365, having already gone live with mobile poker.
