Paddy Power regains third place in Oddschecker rankings
Irish bookie climbs back into the top three in a month dominated by the Grand National, US Masters and Anthony Joshua fight
Paddy Power leapfrogged Sky Bet into third place in Oddschecker’s bet slip click rankings last month after a strong showing in the Grand National and US Masters.
The brand regained its top three position with a 10.81% market share, compared to Sky Bet’s 9.98% share, while bet365 (20.11%) and Betfair (12.92%) were first and second respectively.
Paddys’ success in April was helped by its performance during the Grand National, where it climbed two places compared to 2016 into third, and in the golf Masters where it also secured a top-three position.
Meanwhile, the UK football rankings saw little movement, although Marathonbet continue its climb up the rankings into ninth – the operator’s best position to date.
The Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko fight proved a popular betting event for punters, with bet365 coming out on top (24.69%), followed by Sky Bet (12.62%) and William Hill (10.63%).
“This fight proved to be very popular with bettors in April becoming one of the most attractive events of the month,” an Oddschecker spokesperson told EGR Intel.
“Bet slip clicks were split evenly between Joshua and Klitschko despite AJ’s favouritism.”
