Paddy Power joins Hong Kong Jockey Club pari-mutuel pools
Operator to offer HKJC tote wagers to retail customers
Paddy Power shop customers will be able to bet into Hong Kong’s giant pari-mutuel racing pools following a new co-mingling agreement between the operator and the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC).
Paddy Power joins Betfred, Coral, Ladbrokes and William Hill with access to the pools, after the companies began accepting the tote-only wagers on Hong Kong racing in November last year.
“We are thrilled that Paddy Power have joined our growing list of commingling partners in time for the 2017/18 season,” said George Irvine, co-mingling development director at Hong Kong Jockey Club.
“They are a hugely successful operator and this deal opens up Hong Kong racing to a large audience of passionate racing.”
Honk Kong racing can add incremental revenues for UK shops, whit most races shown in the mornings before domestic racing gets started.
Hong Kong’s turnover from commingling partners grew 87% last season, totalling HK$6.5 billion which accounted for more than 5% of the Club’s total turnover from racing.
