WILLIAM HILL has completed the sale of its share in the Victoria Apuestas joint venture in Spain to Codere, for €1. The bookmaker announced its withdrawal from the 50/50 joint venture last May, saying regulatory barriers had made expansion too difficult in the territory.

UK advertising network and online publishing group Media Corporation (Media Corp) has published unaudited 2009 first quarter results showing revenue and gross profit both up by more than four and a half times. The business recorded revenue of £4.6m, up 460% from the £1m it recorded for the same period in 2008, and gross profit before tax of £1.8m – an increase of 450%. The business has also managed to turn a small pre-tax profit after its pre-tax loss last year, recording profit before tax of £0.37m, after a pre-tax loss of £0.45m in the first quarter of last year. This resulted in earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of £0.41m. The Google penalty on Media Corp’s Gambling.com site was lifted in October 2009, and the company re-launched the site with SEO business On-e Media and acquired poker site Purple Lounge that month.

Software supplier Orbis Technology has signed a deal with affiliate marketing business Income Access to provide its clients with an affiliate marketing software solution allowing them to have their egaming products and affiliate programme powered by a single provider.

PartyGaming affiliate programme PartyPartners has been awarded the eCOGRA Affiliate Trust Seal, denoting it has passed the on-site inspection and monitoring requirements of player protection and standards body eCOGRA. In unrelated PartyGaming news, the operator signed a deal with software security company Vasco for Vasco to provide it with authentication against account hacking.

Bodog Europe has hired senior match reporter Mikeel Patel from England’s Football Association (FA) as the company’s player marketing coordinator. Patel updated statistics for the England team at the FA as well creating the Association’s live in-play match report on England Internationals and working on the Grass Roots Football project.
