EurosportBET is to launch a UK-facing poker site on the Ongame poker network later this month. Eurosport has launched a UK-only sports betting service as a way of preparing for the forthcoming regulation in France, its home market, next year, and the poker platform will be rolled out on the same basis.
The poker offering will complement EurosportBet’s online sports betting service launched in June, and will use the latest edition of Ongame’s P5 Poker Engine.
Olivier Ou Ramdane, chief executive of EurosportBET parent company SPS Betting, said the group was keen to partner with companies that worked within national online gaming laws. “Ongame Network is such a company,” said Ramdane. “We look forward to our UK online poker service taking off, giving us a foundation for future European projects.”
Martin Lerby, head of Ongame, said the deal marked the beginning of a new working relationship between Ongame and EurosportBET.
“We believe that online poker is an entertainment product and attracting mass-market brands such as Eurosport is part of our strategy,” he said.
