One in five abandon app straight after sign-up, new data shows
Element Wave report reveals approximately 20% of customers are immediately turned off by things such as poor UX
As many as 20% of mobile gamblers are abandoning apps after immediately registering, a new study by real-time marketing platform Element Wave has shown.
In its latest report, Mobile iGaming Insights, the firm looked at real-time and pre-match customer behaviours across gaming apps and found one-in-five were quickly turned off by things such as “poor UX to odds cruisers”.
In addition, the study questioned the effectiveness of sign-up offers with its study concluding that 25% of customer churned straight after having placed their bonus bet.
Element Wave also claimed that push notifications, if sent at the right time, could increase bets by 300%, while football matches with the same kick-off times attracted 10 – 15% of the same punters across those games.
“The data shows clear trends and predictable results in registration journeys, bonus claim rates and real-time reaction to mobile messaging,” an Element Wave spokesperson said.
Statistics for the report were collected from thousands of in-app messages, push notifications and player behaviour results.
