Oddschecker Insights: Coral victorious in new customer battle
Operator's 10/1 on England to win sees it take one-quarter of new customer clicks on the price comparison site
Coral emerged victorious in the Euro 2016 acquisition war yesterday after obtaining nearly one-quarter of all new customer clicks on Oddsechecker.
Exclusive data provided by the odds comparison site shows Coral’s 10/1 price enhancement on England to beat Iceland proved more popular than offers from closest rivals Ladbrokes and Betfair.
Ladbrokes’ 6/1 on England and 12/1 on Iceland helped the operator obtain a 7% share of new customers, while Betfair obtained 5% with its 9/1 price on England to win.
Meanwhile, Betfred was the winner with regards to all customer click share (25%) after offering punters with its ‘bet ?10 pre-match and get ?5 in play’ offer.
“The allure of an in-play free bet continues to be lucrative as illustrated by Betfred’s consistently strong performance in this department,” Ant Haynes, commercial executive at Oddschecker, said.
“A number of Oddschecker punters were also understandably wary of another England bore draw following their failure to break down Slovakia, and consequently William Hill and Sportingbet’s money back offers should the game finish scoreless proved popular.”
The two operators received 8% and 6% of clicks.
From a pricing perspective, Ladbrokes was best-priced on both Italy and Iceland to triumph during the day, while BetBright led the way three hours prior to kick-off at just over 40/1.
