NYX Gaming grows US presence with Golden Nugget deal
Supplier strikes deal with New Jersey operator who will switch from Bally Technologies platform by the end of the year
NYX Gaming Group has struck a deal with the Golden Nugget in New Jersey to provide the operator with its multi-channel online casino platform.
The operator’s GoldenNuggetCasino.com site is currently powered by Bally Technologies, but under the new deal NYX will supply the platform, a brand new website and mobile applications, with the switch due to go live by Q4.
NYX chief exec Matt Davey said his firm was “delighted” to have been chosen by Golden Nugget to “further strengthen their presence” in the Garden State.
“Golden Nugget has built an impressive online business while quickly establishing itself as one of the leaders in this rapidly emerging market,” he added.
Golden Nugget’s VP of online Thomas Winter said the operator decided to change platforms following Bally’s mega-merger with Scientific Games, and that the split was “mutually agreed” by both parties.
“Golden Nugget has ambitious growth plans for its online real-money gaming business in New Jersey and beyond, which require long-term commitment from its platform provider,” Winter said.
“Scientific Games, following the acquisition of Bally Technologies, decided to focus their interactive efforts on content, social gaming and mobile on-property wagering rather than state-wide real-money gaming,” he added.
The new partnership will start with Golden Nugget launching a number of titles from NYX’s NextGen Gaming studio on its current desktop and mobile platform in September.
GoldenNuggetCasino.com has gone from strength to strength in New Jersey despite launching late in the market – in May the operator generated the highest online casino revenue ($3m) of all the sites live in the state.
