Nueva Codere finalises eight-person board of directors
Ex-Ladbrokes CEO Chris Bell joined by finance experts and Grupo Codere CEO on new board
Nueva Codere has completed the line-up of its new board of directors following the previous appointment of industry heavyweight Chris Bell as non-executive chair. Former Ladbrokes CEO Bell was appointed in January 2022 and is now joined by seven new directors split across two classes. Three Class A directors will join the board in the shape of Aidan de Brunner, Antonio Moya-Angeler and Vicente Di Loreto. Investment veteran de Brunner joins as an independent director on the board having had stints as an partner at Arrowgrass Capital Partners and executive director at Morgan Stanley. Moya-Angeler has been appointed as a qualifying shareholder director and serves as a member of advisory boards for several companies. Di Loreto will retain his position as corporate director. He has served as Grupo Codere CEO since January 2018. Four further directors, known as Class B, will also be onboarded. They are Laurence Biver, Isabelle Lambert, Mathieu Kakal and Sandra Egan. The new board of directors will work with Nueva Codere’s management team as the operator aims to return to pre-pandemic levels of activity and action a growth plan for the firm. The operator noted it recognises “significant opportunities” in Spain, Mexico and in the online space. Bell said: “I believe that Nueva Codere has a promising future. The capacity and experience of the management team, together with the talent of the directors who accompany me, make me very optimistic about the new phase that the company is starting.”
