A hearing for 32Red’s lawsuit against William Hill will take place tomorrow at London’s High Court more than a year since proceedings began. In the trademark infringement case, 32Red claims it suffered “loss and damage” from 32Vegas, William Hill’s online casino. 32Red alleges that the name 32Vegas was confusing for customers and that it has lost income due to players signing up to 32Vegas believing it to be owned by 32Red. 32Vegas has since been rebranded as 21Nova. In August 2009 eGaming Review reported that 32Red believed, at the time, that 32Vegas made around £4m earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) in 2008. 32Vegas casino was established in 2006 as a Playtech licensee that was transferred over to William Hill as part of the deal that saw the establishment of William Hill Online in October 2008.
