Australian television stations Network Ten and the Nine Network have escaped with a slap on the wrist from the country’s media watchdog, that argued they had breached the country’s Interactive Gambling Act for promoting PokerStars.net. Nine was investigated for running PokerStars.net ads during its 2009 Wimbledon tennis coverage and Ten for billboard ads run before a weekly sports show. The Australian Communications and Media Authority ordered the networks to hold staff training meetings aimed at ensuring such breaches did not occur again. In their defence, the television stations argued that as a freeplay site, Pokerstars.net did not promote gambling, while the authority said the dot net site was clearly aimed at directing users to real-money site PokerStars.com.

Lottomatica‘s subsidiary, GTech Corporation, has received a two-year extension to continue providing lottery products and support services to Pronosticos para la Asistencia Publica in Mexico. GTech said it would receive around US$43m in revenues in two years. The deal ends in September 2014.
