News in brief: Lederer and Ferguson leave PPA; Rank Group
The two members of Team Full Tilt have stepped down from the board of the lobby group.
Chris Ferguson and Howard Lederer have stepped down from the board of the Poker Players Alliance, according to a statement made by the lobby group on the Two Plus Two poker forums. The two World Series of Poker bracelet winners are both members of Team Full Tilt, with Ferguson having helped design Full Tilt’s site and Lederer acting as a consultant to parent company Pocket Kings.
The Rank Group has confirmed the rejection of a 150p-per-share offer from The Guoco Group. Last week the London listed company recommended shareholders reject the offer, describing it as “significantly undervaluing Rank and its prospects.”
The London Capital Group (LCG) has signed a white-label deal with brokerage firm TD Waterhouse, the first deal of its kind since Paddy Power ended its agreement with the company. LCG already has a deal in place with PartyGaming, which was signed in January 2010.
French regulatory authority ARJEL has allowed Pokerstars to operate its Home Games feature on its dot.fr site. The feature was suspended in February while ARJEL assessed whether the format was in compliance with French law. The regulator has also confirmed that it has approved a new domain for PartyPoker owner Electraworks.
Winamax CEO Canel Frichet has been named as marketing personality of the year at the Marketing Innovation Awards in Paris. She was awarded the prize ahead of representatives from Evian and Yves Rocher.
