Caesars and Gamesys have denied rumours that the US casino has offered to buy the Jackpot Joy and Sun Bingo operator.
Both Caesars and Gamesys have denied a report in today’s Guardian that the Jackpot Joy and Sun Bingo operator spurned a takeover bid from the US casino group. A Caesars spokesman told eGaming Review: “We can tell you with 100% certainty that we have not made any offer to buy any company”. A spokesman for Gamesys also told eGaming Review that: “There were some preliminary discussions [with Caesars] in the last couple of months but here was no clear discussion of what price it might be. The talks are not going anywhere. They did not progress.”
Sportech has added two senior industry figures to its board, including Playtech chairman Roger Withers as non-executive chairman. Withers is the second Playtech executive to join the Sportech board, alongside Playtech COO and Sportech non-executive director Shmuel Weiss. His appointment sees former acting non-executive chairman John Barnes revert to his previous role as an independent non-executive director. Peter Williams, who also sits on the boards of companies such as JJB Sports and Selfridges, joins Sportech as senior independent non-executive director.
Winner Affiliates has introduced a new payment option to its site in the form of online payment provider Intercash. Intercash takes its place alongside Neteller and Moneybookers (Skrill), as well as alternative payment options such as bank draft and wire transfer, and follows Winner Affiliates’ decision to provide three new language options “ German, Spanish and French “ on its site.
Rank Group is carrying out immersive market research with the aim of understanding its customers better. The UK-based company, responsible for Mecca Bingo and Blue Square through its remote gaming business Rank Interactive, will have senior staff accompany customers to bingo rooms and casinos, as well as interviewing them in their homes. The news comes in the same week that Rank announced the launch of a Mecca Bingo iPhone app.
Dutch gaming company Spil Games has selected Adyen‘s online payment system for its gaming portal. Spil’s network of sites receives 130 million unique visitors per month, according to the Adyen release. The single-click payment system provided by the Amsterdam-based company “ already used by the likes of Groupon and Vodafone “ will be available at any of Spil’s gaming portals.
